Well, fun just made a comeback…
No need to dig out your old crayons, now all you need is a laptop and some cool Ai like MidJourney or Canva and you could be creating artworks that will not only astonish you, but that will transport you back to those magical childhood fantasy years. And that’s our mission, to get the world making art and having fun again!
Why? Because the traditional art world of today is elitist, stuffy and musty. For way too long it’s been a closed shop and a fun free zone.
Artists with creative ability and artistic skills to match are an elite minority. Museums, galleries, agents and critics are elitist gatekeepers who decide who’s in and who’s out and what’s in and what’s out. Wealth and access has created an elite cohort of traditional buyers and collectors.
The art world elite has jealously guarded these privileges. Until now. Say hello to digital art!
Digital technology is disrupting the traditional art world in every way imaginable. It has removed the need for much of the technical skill previously required to create interesting artwork. Now anyone can generate original art in an almost limitless range of styles and techniques simply by typing their prompts into the Ai program of their choice. Cost isn’t even a factor as most of the mainstream programs are free.
Digital art has the potential to liberate humanities’ creative spirit. Imagine a world where one billion people regularly utilise digital art tools to entertain themselves in much the same way as billions of people amuse themselves by watching YouTube or playing video games. But instead of being passive consumers of digital content, we now have the ability to be active generators of creative content. Imagine the massive output this will deliver, then imagine the commercial opportunities.
Of course the vast majority of Ai art generated by enthusiastic amateurs will simply be Ai slop. But that won’t stop budding artists from having fun and enjoying themselves while they’re at it. And as with all things, real talent will shine through and go on to become the foundation of a massive new artistic genre.
The key to launching Ai art into the mainstream will be hybrid art. A combination of traditional hand-crafted art married to Ai generated imagery that produces unique results, opening the door to infinite amounts of amazing imagery utilising mixed styles and techniques never seen before.
And once hybrid art goes mainstream then the sheer number of creators and collectors alone will ensure that digital art and digital artists dominate the traditional art world both numerically and financially.
